After Work Jazz: AYIAfter Work Jazz: AYI
Der Schwerpunkt unserer „After Work Jazz“-Reihe, jeweils am 2. Montag im Monat ab 19 Uhr im Club Voltaire, liegt auf jungen, neuen Bands und Projekten aus der Jazzszene Frankfurt/Rhein-Main. Die Jazzszene in und um Frankfurt ist voller Kontraste, ebenso traditionsbewusst wie modern, experimentierfreudig, virtuos, und – selbstverständlich für Frankfurt – weltoffen und international. Dieser lebendigen und vielfältigen Szene wollen wir mit der Montagsreihe im Club Voltaire eine zusätzliche Bühne geben.
Die Band des heutigen Abends: AYI
AYI is formed in Istanbul by three bears and migrated to Germany. Adopted itself to steppes, forests passed through balkans recruited haka dancers moved along the river main and ended up in Frankfurt. Overlapping different layers and dynamics of music creates the essence of AYI’s music. Leaving a big playground to different sounds plays an important role in it’s sound. AYI will be playing some originals and also some old(ish) and new tunes from awesome people like John Scofield and Theon Cross, Yazz Ahmed.
